Privacy Policy

Unfade restores old photographs and helps you make new things from them. This policy explains what we collect and why, in plain language.

What we collect

• Your Google profile basics — name, email address and profile photo — to create your account and sign you in. There are no passwords.
• Photos and videos you choose to upload — solely to do what you asked: restore, edit, animate, cut, or turn into a sticker. Uploading is always something you start.
• People you save (reference photos) — if you use People, a few photos of a person so restorations and creations keep their real face. You can delete a person at any time; the images and any derived face data go with them, immediately. A portrait edit also keeps a numeric face summary (not a photo) with its job so a retry keeps the same face; it is deleted with the job.
• Your voice — only if you use My voice: a video of yourself speaking, used to build a voice you control. You confirm it is your own voice. You can replace or delete it any time.
• Things you type — prompts, scripts, lyrics and chat messages, to produce what you asked for. Chat messages are sent to our AI provider to answer you. Your conversations with Ask are saved to your account so you can find them again on any phone you sign in on — the last 50, and never the photos on your phone itself; we also count messages per day. Delete any conversation from Ask's History, or delete your account, and it is gone from our servers immediately.
• Purchase history — processed by Google Play and RevenueCat to manage your credits and subscription. We never see your card details.
• A push token — only if you turn notifications on, so we can tell you when a long job finishes.
• Basic usage analytics — which screens and features are used and which errors appear, tied to your account id, never to your photos — to fix bugs and improve the app. No crash-reporting SDK is in the app; the advertising SDK and what it receives are described under Advertising below.

How your media is handled

• Everything is encrypted in transit and stored privately; only your account can access your files.
• Location metadata (GPS) is stripped from photos at upload and from every video the app exports; a video you upload for an AI pass is sent to the model as you gave it.
• To process a request, your media is sent to our AI service providers — Anthropic and Replicate (which runs models from Google, OpenAI, Black Forest Labs, Stability AI, Ideogram, Recraft, MiniMax, ByteDance, Kuaishou, Wan and others — in Advanced generation you choose which one) — under their data-protection terms. They do not use your content to train their models.
• What you make lives in your library (My stuff) until you delete it, so you can find it again. The originals you upload are deleted 30 days after the job finishes and temporary previews after 7 days.
• Your account, files and library are stored with Supabase; the service runs on Fly.io; push notifications go through Expo's push service; purchases are handled by Google Play and RevenueCat, which keeps the purchase record the store requires for refunds.
• Films you write in Director and WhatsApp sticker packs are stored on your phone, not on our servers.
• Shared stickers. A sticker is private unless you tap Share with everyone. A shared sticker is visible to every Unfade user in the shared library, without your name or account; anyone may copy it into their own library. You can stop sharing at any time — new copies stop, copies already made stay with the people who made them. A sticker reported as offensive is removed from the library immediately.
• Some features create AI-generated images, video or audio — merging people, extending a scene, imagined pictures, animated portraits, generated voices, stickers. Images made by merging people, extending a scene or the editor's AI passes carry an AI-generated note in their metadata; every invented result is labelled as such where you share it from the app.

Advertising

• Free accounts see ads; Premium does not. Ads are served by Google AdMob. A free account sees one inline ad while a render runs and can choose to watch a rewarded ad for more stickers today or progress toward a free credit. There are no interstitials, no pop-ups and no ads inside the editors. A Premium subscription removes every ad.
• What the ad SDK collects. To show an ad, Google AdMob receives your device's advertising ID, IP address, coarse device and app information and, when you have consented to personalised ads, uses them to pick ads. Google's use of this data is described in Google's advertising policy. Unfade does not send your photos, videos, voice, prompts or name to the ad network.
• Personalised or not — your choice. On first launch in the EEA, the UK and US states with a privacy law, a consent form asks whether ads may be personalised. Decline and you still see ads, only non-personalised ones. Change your answer any time: the consent form reopens from the app's Settings.
• Opting out. Subscribe to Premium and no ad is shown. Or reset or delete your advertising ID in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads ("Delete advertising ID"), after which ads cannot be tied to your device.
• Rewarded ads are verified on our server. When you finish a rewarded ad, AdMob tells our server directly (a signed callback) and the server credits the reward — the app cannot claim one on its own. We keep only the reward record (which ad unit, when, and the transaction id) tied to your account, to enforce the daily limits. We never sell ad data, and no ad data is joined to your media.

Publicidad (resumen en español)

• Las cuentas gratis ven anuncios; Premium no. Los anuncios los sirve Google AdMob. Una cuenta gratis ve un anuncio en línea mientras se procesa un trabajo y puede elegir ver un anuncio con recompensa para tener más stickers hoy o avanzar hacia un crédito gratis. No hay intersticiales, ni ventanas emergentes, ni anuncios dentro de los editores. La suscripción Premium quita todos los anuncios.
• Qué recoge el SDK de anuncios. Para mostrar un anuncio, Google AdMob recibe el identificador de publicidad de tu dispositivo, tu dirección IP e información básica del dispositivo y de la app; si aceptaste anuncios personalizados, los usa para elegirlos. El uso que Google hace de estos datos está descrito en la política de publicidad de Google. Unfade no envía tus fotos, videos, voz, textos ni nombre a la red de anuncios.
• Personalizados o no: tú eliges. En el primer arranque en el EEE, el Reino Unido y los estados de EE. UU. con ley de privacidad, un formulario de consentimiento pregunta si los anuncios pueden personalizarse. Si dices que no, sigues viendo anuncios, pero no personalizados. Cambia tu respuesta cuando quieras: el formulario de consentimiento se vuelve a abrir desde los Ajustes de la app.
• Cómo evitarlos. Suscríbete a Premium y no se muestra ningún anuncio. O restablece o borra tu identificador de publicidad en Ajustes de Android → Privacidad → Anuncios ("Eliminar ID de publicidad"); después de eso los anuncios no pueden vincularse a tu dispositivo.
• Las recompensas se verifican en nuestro servidor. Al terminar un anuncio con recompensa, AdMob avisa directamente a nuestro servidor (una llamada firmada) y el servidor acredita la recompensa; la app no puede reclamarla por su cuenta. Solo guardamos el registro de la recompensa (qué unidad, cuándo y el identificador de la transacción) ligado a tu cuenta, para aplicar los límites diarios. Nunca vendemos datos de anuncios y ningún dato de anuncios se une a tus fotos o videos.

Your rights

• Delete any item, any saved person, your voice, any saved conversation, or your entire account and all its data from within the app — deletion is immediate and permanent.
• Save or share anything you made at any time.
• Ask us anything about your data: admin@unfadeapp.com.

What we don't do

• We don't sell your data or your media. Ever.
• We don't send marketing spam, show interstitials or pop-ups, or put an ad inside an editor. Free accounts see ads only as described under Advertising; Premium sees none.
• We don't use your photos, videos or voice for anything except the things you ask for.
